Camping at Haina

Brakah Camp Site:

Situated +/- 3 km from the main gate of Haina Safari Lodge. There are 10 camp sites under thorn trees. An ablution block with a double set of “flush” toilets and showers with hot and cold running water. No electricity is provided. A zink is provided for washing of dishes. Water is salty and cannot be used for drinking.

The main lodge is +/- 3km from the camp site and has a cash bar and meals can also be arranged for by prior arrangements / or if the lodge is not fully occupied.

The rate for the Brakah Camp is 20 Pula per vehicle entrance fee and 80 Pula per person per night. Children under the age of 11 are free. Firewood may be purchased from the Lodge.

ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE TO CAMPERS

Guided Walks:

Bush Trail - Join the resident ranger and bushmen tracker on an bush trail. Learn more about animal spoor, the vegetation of the Kalahari. Varied lengths and duration depending on the guests physical fitness but anything between 3-5 kilometers

Cost: P150 per person minimum 2

Game Drives: Game Drives, in open vehicles, are led by an experienced guide and bushman tracker and are offered at sunrise and sunset. Evening sundowners are served with the sun setting over the Kalahari.

Duration and Departure times: The guests preferences are taken into consideration with normal duration of 2 hours. Departure times normally 8am and 4pm.

Bushmen Cultural experience

Haina Safari Lodge is located in close proximity to the ancient mecca of the Bushmen that inhabited the area about 6 000 years ago. Haina is home to a group of Bushmen, who are free to continue their nomadic life or join the experienced staff at Haina. They will share with you how they go about their daily lives, how they search for roots and plants to live on, how to make a fire and do a rain dance.

Quad Bikes

Quad biking is a novel way to explore the verdant countryside adjacent to Haina Safari Lodge and to view the game and bird life.

250 Pula for 2hour drive. (not included in accommodation rate)

DINING OPTIONS FOR CAMPERS

If you become tired of your own cooking the resident chef at Haina serves three meals a day and would need to be pre-booked. Special dietary requirements can be catered for with prior notice.
