RATES AND CONDITIONS

NB:
Rates are quoted in USD and are per person per night.
No Single Supplement applies.
Children up to the age of 4 years of age will be at no charge, Children aged 4-12 sharing with two adults will be at 50% of the sharing rate.
Third person sharing will be at 50% of adult rate. (use of superior luxury tent recommended)
Children of any age utilising their own tent will be charged full rate.

The above rates include:( unless otherwise stated): All meals,Teas, coffees and snacks, local alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, Game drives and guided walks, bushman activities, Laundry, Government taxes and levies, road transfer from the Haina airstrip to the Lodge.

The above rates exclude: Imported alcohol, Visa costs, transfer costs to and from Haina, Travel insurance, items of personal nature. 

Pilots / Guides accompanying guests
US$ 60 = sharing, during any season – accommodation and meals only

INFORMATION ON THE ACTIVITIES THAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE RATES

Guided Walks:
Bush Trail - Join the resident guide and bushmen tracker on an bush trail. Learn more about animal spoor, the vegetation of the Kalahari. Varied lengths and duration depending on the guests physical fitness but anything between 3-5 kilometers.

Game Drives:
Game Drives, in open vehicles, are led by an experienced guide and are offered at sunrise and sunset. Evening sundowners are served with the sun setting over the Kalahari.
Duration and Departure times: The guests preferences are taken into consideration with  normal duration of  2 hours. Departure times normally 06h30 and 16h00

Night Game Drives:
Departure times at either 9pm (after dinner-depending on conditions) or before dinner incorporating sundowners.

Bushmen Interaction:
Haina Safari Lodge is located in close proximity to the ancient mecca of the Bushmen that inhabited the area about 6 000 years ago. Haina is home to a group of Bushmen, who will share with you how they go about their daily lives, how they search for roots and plants to live on, how to make a fire and do a rain dance.

OPTIONAL EXTRA DAY ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS

Quad Bikes:

USD 25 pp/P150 pp per hour. Only for use by guests over the age of 16years.

Quad biking is a novel way to explore the verdant countryside adjacent to Haina Safari Lodge and to view the game and bird life.

Day trip into Central Kalahari:
USD 52 pp min 4 from 1/1/08 – 31/12/08
USD 80 PP min 4 from 1/01/09 – 31/10/09

This excursion is offered free of charge if a 4 night stay is booked.
NB: If this excursion cannot take place for reasons beyond HSL’s control, then no compensation will be made i.r.o. the “Free of charge” offer.
It can also not be claimed if any special offer, long stay discount has been claimed.

Depart early morning (± 06h00 depending on season). Driving time is approximately 2 hours to the park. Deception Valley is an ancient fossil river bed, game viewing is especially good as there are open plains and it is common to see very large herds of antelope. We will visit the camp site of Mark and Delia Owens, the authors of the book “Cry of the Kalahari”, we will learn more about their journeys in this fascinating region of Africa. Returning to Haina in the late afternoon in time to freshen up before our evening meal.
